Melanie Tucker is the owner of the most unique travel design service, Tough Love Travel (www.toughlovetravel.com), based in Lambertville, NJ.
She raised 4 sons, partly in her home in Princeton and partly in her Ford van, as they road-tripped all over the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Her love of travel eventually took her around the globe. She was in Tiananmen Square on the day martial law was declared in '89, side-stepped cobras in the souk of Marrakech, hiked up Arenal volcano, saw her first mummy in Pompeii, and rode the Orient Express into Budapest! Through all of these experiences, she was touched by the magic of travel, and inspired to build Tough Love Travel, a research and design service, creating completely custom travel itineraries for individuals, couples, families, and social groups. Her trips are sometimes rustic... often luxurious.. but always unique, and her goal is make clients feel safe, rejuvenated, amazed, and excited! Melanie is a shameless foodie (her motto: If it doesn't walk off my plate, I eat it!) and she just loves it when people tell her,
"You make me pine for a boarding pass!"
