Michael A. Bernstein assumed his role as President of The College of New Jersey in June 2024 having served as interim President the prior year.  Previously he held leadership roles as Provost and interim President at Stony Brook University.  He also served as Provost at Tulane University steering its post-Hurricane Katrina recovery.  His academic foundation includes 20 years as  a professor and dean at UC San Diego and 5 years as an assistant professor of history at Princeton University.
