1504) HIGH MOUNTAIN PARK PRESERVE

High Mountain Park Preserve in Wayne has spectacular and varied topography and scenery. It is a must-go for local hikers. Highlights are Franklin Clove (a ravine with rock outcrops reportedly used as shelters by Native Americans), several waterfalls, impressive rock formations and a possible off-trail adventure to a mysterious leaning rock. Hike is over difficult terrain–rocky and muddy. Excellent balance and strong footwear required; hiking poles recommended. About 4 miles total hiking at a modest pace, with several moderate hills. No refund given if moved to rain date. Please note that directions and parking instructions will be emailed to all registered participants one week prior to hikes. Led by KIRK BARRETT
