0004) DECONSTRUCTING RACISM

The Deconstructing Racism Series consists of four modules. Part I includes “Our White Supremacist Culture” and “How White Supremacy is Upheld.” The first two weeks discuss racism as the manifestation of the ideology that white people are superior to people of color and explore how this ideology was adopted and codified in law. The third and fourth weeks will investigate the external and internal forces that co-create the conditions to perpetuate racism and oppression and how these inequities manifest today.

Part II, “The Impact of White Supremacy” and “ How to Disrupt White Supremacy” will be offered in the Spring of 2025.

This series is presented by The Community Coalition on Race and led by BARBARA VELAZQUEZ, Trustee of the South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race.
