0007) GUSTAV KLIMT AND VIENNA'S GOLDEN AGE

Gustav Klimt dominated cultural life in Vienna at the turn of the Twentieth Century and was the bridge between the Symbolism of the fin-de-siecle Europe and the wave of Modernism that captured the imagination of the Continent. In part one, we’ll explore Klimt’s remarkable life, while examining his ebullient landscapes, sensual drawings and ravishing portraits. In part two, we’ll discuss the relationship between Klimt and his many Jewish patrons and what happened to them and the Klimt works they owned during the Nazi era and beyond.
