1400) BEACH WALK IN CONFERENCE HOUSE PARK, STATEN ISLAND

While Staten Island might not be the first place you think of to visit, a stroll on the beach around the southernmost tip of New York State offers outstanding views across the Arthur Kill and Raritan Bay. The highlight of the Park is the Conference House, site of the 1776 negotiations for the early end of the American Revolutionary War. We will walk a little further east through forest and beach to Prince’s Bay lighthouse. Take the Hylan Boulevard bus back or walk back if you are energetic. About 3 miles one-way. Bring lunch if you want to picnic afterwards in the pavilion over the water.
