Up-cycle your old piece of furniture to a chic usable piece with confidence. Students will bring in their own small piece of furniture that can be carried to class and learn how to paint, distress and wax to a finish. Students can also bring in a stencil for the furniture piece if they choose. Materials needed can be purchased through Amazon or a craft store: one quart of chalk paint in desired color (Annie Sloan has nice shades, but there are many brands); 2 to 3 chalk paint brushes (one large and one small); one can of clear finishing wax (wax, not liquid); one new kitchen sponge with scouring pad side; lint-free cloths (can be a clean old T-shirt); stencil (optional).
