0322) PAINTING PORTRAITS FROM PHOTOGRAPHS
 

This class is designed for students with some experience painting and drawing who want to explore composition and content within a portrait. Students will view and critique work by established artists, learn basic color theory and explore surrealism and symbolism while creating an original portrait of a subject of their choosing. Materials needed: sketchbook, pencil, canvas (medium sized), acrylic paint - at least primary colors and white/black, brushes (mix of larger edge and some smaller ones). BRENDAN BOLAND holds a BFA from Emerson College and an MA from New York University.
