A strong believer in historic education and preservation, Kenneth Gavin has served in executive leadership positions on the boards of several museums, historic sites, and other non-profits for over two decades. He has substantial experience with living history programs relative to the American Revolution and American Civil War eras. Ken serves as commander of the recreated Spencer’s Additional Regiment and the Adjutant of the Continental Line. He is an independent consultant to the State of New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Parks and Forestry serving as Park Project Specialist for Semiquincentennial Living History Programs. Ken has worked part-time providing tours at Valley Forge National Historical Park. He has served as a key consultant and actor for the park’s official orientation film, Determined to Persevere. He serves as Senior Consultant for Public History Programming at Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) and provides consulting services to Adams County Historical Society (PA) regarding Semiquincentennial programming as a member of its Council of Historians. Ken has served as a guide in the Gettysburg area and in Olde City Philadelphia in conjunction with Teaching American History Grant programs sponsored by the United States Department of Education. He is a frequent guest on the  “Addressing Gettysburg” and “The History Things” podcasts. Ken has been a preferred model and central figure for the works of noted historical artists Don Troiani and Jeff Trexler.
