Mark Herr is a member of the Princeton Battlefield Society Board of Trustees and a former member of the New Jersey Historical Commission. Currently, he is writing a book on New Jersey's shift from a reluctant revolutionary to casting its vote for independence. In Princeton, this movement was led by Rev. John Witherspoon, Richard Stockton, John Dickinson Sergeant, First Presbyterian Church of Princeton, and the students at the College of New Jersey (Princeton University).
Born a mile from the Princeton battlefield, Mr. Herr now lives even closer to the scene of one the most important battles of the American Revolution. He earned his B.A. from Colgate University cum laude and with Honors in History, his Master’s degree from Columbia University, and his J.D. from the Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a member of the Constitutional Law Journal.
