Liz Freeman - I am an enthusiastic, passionate knitter and teacher. My journey started early in my childhood. My mother learned to knit in Ireland when she was a child and she decided to teach my sister and me how to knit when we were six , years old. I have been knitting ever since. I did take periodic breaks to add crocheting, quilting and needlepoint to my repertoire- some say my talents. I started off with small projects like scarfs and hats and then moved up too sweaters and coats. Since my Mom never learned to read a pattern, I followed her guidance and her self-designed patterns. The patterns focused mainly on garter, stockinette and multiple cables. As I grew up, I discovered new techniques, patterns, incredible designers and different weights and fibers of “yarn”. I continue to be amazed and eager to explore new techniques and fibers. I am currently in love with Yak. I love knitting shawls, especially for weddings, christenings and prayer shawls. I am a professional facilitator/trainer and have been able to marry my love of knitting and teaching by teaching knitting classes for all levels of knitters, including children at Knit One Stitch Too, Pennington, NJ. I look forward to sharing my joy, knowledge and lessons learned with you.
