Neal McGrath started brewing beer at the age of 15 after seeing a newspaper article discussing how changes to federal law in the 1970s made it legal for anyone to brew up to 300 gallons of beer per year at home. Over the years, Neal has made beer in hot climates and cold, in places with good water and where he had to buy spring water because the local supply was not suitable, and has learned valuable techniques to avoid common mistakes that can ruin your beer. Neal also has extensive experience brewing hard cider, mead, melomel and a variety of fruit wines.
