My name is Sangeeta and I am a self-taught artist.
Making art is a creative and meditative process and I find it deeply satisfying and rewarding. I love working in a variety of dry and wet media. Each medium brings with it its own challenges and learning.
My subjects range from still life to nature drawing to human and animal portraits. I also enjoy doodling, mandala art, Zen doodles—all of it! Having said that, my favorite subject is drawing/painting animals and I undertake pet portrait commissions.
I find guiding people on their art journey just as fulfilling as creating art myself. In the past, I have taught students privately and volunteered for years to teach differently-abled children. Seeing an individual’s creativity come through with a little nudge is deeply satisfying. I have been teaching a watercolor/drawing/color pencil class at the Princeton Manor (a 55+ community) clubhouse since early 2019. I have also been teaching art classes at the South Brunswick Senior Center. Recently, I conducted a mini workshop on meditative, therapeutic art through the South Brunswick Public Library.
I love urban sketching and I am a member of the Princeton Sketchers group.
