My Father taught me to play bridge when I was 12. I have been passionate about it ever since. I am now a Saphire Life Master. When covid hit I was running a bridge club in New Hope and teaching. I had spent my working life in Information Technology and teaching. When I was approached by the American Contract Bridge League to ask if I would teach bridge in March 2021 all my experiences seemed relevant. I said 'Yes' not realising how much work  there was to learn to teach online. Once covid hit many of us were playing lots of bridge on line Online is wonderful for encouraging people to play but it is not bringing new members into the game.

.NOBODY WAS TEACHING.

Since March 2021 I have been using Zoom to organise my teaching sessions and Sharkbridge to simulate the classroom environment. People learn well online because they can practice so much. They can practice by themselves they don't need 3 other people. I limit my online classes to 8 people. Sharkbridge allows me to let everybody play at once and watching 8 people play is the most I can follow at one time. Pat Harrington is one of the top American teachers and I use her courses to structure my lessons. (Beginner, Playing the hand and Defence).
