Michael Winka has a BS in environmental science and studied for a MS in environmental engineering. He Teaches graduate level courses in solid waste management; and sustainable energy and policy and has worked for the State of New Jersey for almost 40 years – retired.

Managed NJDEP’s Statewide Greenhouse Gas and Sustainability Action Plan
New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) for 17 years.
First Director of the newly established Office of Clean Energy
Managed New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program (NJCEP) - Establishing the state’s solar and offshore wind programs; and expanding the energy efficiency programs statewide.
Served as Clean Energy Policy Advisor to the President of the NJBPU.
He is currently the Executive Director of Sustainable Lawrence.
