404) Stitch Book! (In-Person)

Stitching is wonderful way to add a bit of "analog living" to your busy life! Stitching also can bring a great sense of community as fellow needleists gather together to share ideas and conversation! Each month, the instructor will introduce a theme for a block to be stitched, as well as a prompt for the next month (so the idea wheels can spin!). Students will be encouraged to bring in their own materials (as well as use studio fabric) to create their blocks. Ideally, the blocks will also feature a variety of techniques - the blocks will primarily feature hand stitching. Come for one session or attend as many as you can! Those attending multiple sessions will be guided through a book making process so they will have a wonderful keepsake. The first prompt will be emailed to registered participants.

Suzanne Rogalsky Art has been a lifetime journey for me. I began “crafting” as a child. I made whatever I could from anything I could find. My art path turned toward textiles when I was a young adult as I discovered that sewing my own clothes could be an excellent means of self-expression. I made my first quilt in my mid-twenties and that resulted in having three quilts in juried shows in Lancaster, PA., which was the heart of quilting at the time. Learning mixed media art was the next logical step as it combines fiber and paper arts together with lots of thread, gesso, paint and collage! I make quilts and other fabric items such as purses and ties from wedding dresses, and use thread and a sewing machine to “draw” on other people’s creations under my business name Sunny Stitches. I have been teaching my love of sewing, quilting, mixed media and journal making to others for over 20 years. I truly believe that everyone is creative and I hope to bring the freedom of expression and the gift of uniqueness out of every student.
