Join Chef Rafa for a hands-on cooking class that introduces you to the flavor, versatility, and tradition of dried chiles. You will learn how to cook with dried chiles, prepare your own salsa, and make a classic chile relleno from start to finish. What You’ll Do: Explore Chef Rafa’s techniques for cooking with dried chiles, prepare a fresh salsa using dried chiles, take part in a hands-on chile relleno cooking session, and enjoy your creative dish you prepare for a friend at La Unica. Chiles rellenos are one of the most traditional dishes in Mexican gastronomy. Typically made with poblano peppers, they are prepared in homes across the country with a wide variety of fillings and sauces. Poblanos are especially popular because they are medium-sized, mildly spicy, and sturdy enough to withstand charring, filling, battering, and frying. Learn how to prepare this delicacy from a Mexican Chef in his own restaurant “La Unica, Mexican Eatery” of Pennington, NJ. After the class enjoy your creation at dinner with your guest and fellow cooks.
NOTE: Enrollment limited to six students joined for dinner by each student’s guest. The guests should plan to join the dinner at 6:00 pm. Bring your appetite! Class will take place at La Unica Mexican Eatery, 20 N Main Street, Pennington NJ 08534.
