Caregiving for a family member – whether a spouse with dementia, a child with special needs, or an aging parent – is a journey that often leaves us running on empty. This moderate, two-mile, 90-minute walk is an invitation to re-energize yourself. On the trail we will move away from isolation and into a culture of care, where nature and the group help carry the weight. We will pause frequently to breathe and reflect, focusing on building resilience through mindfulness, connection with other caregivers, and the simple grounding rhythm of movement. You’ll leave with a renewed sense of strength and the comfort of knowing you aren’t walking this path alone.
NOTE: Class will involve walking on turf and earthen surfaces that may be uneven. Students should wear appropriate clothing and closed-toed footwear. Students are expected to be available for both the scheduled class date and the published rain date. Refunds cannot be issued for conflicts with the rain date.
NOTE: This program will be held outdoors at St. Michaels Farm Preserve. We will meet at St. Michaels Farm Preserve West Parking Lot, County Road 569, Hopewell, NJ 08525. St. Michaels Farm Preserve, now over 400 acres, is open to the public and owned and managed by D&R Greenway Land Trust. Its mission is to preserve and care for land, and to inspire a conservation ethic, now and forever. Please arrive on time.
