This course will focus on the knowledge necessary to build small and vital collection of works of art or even what it takes to acquire a single work. Topics will include a discussion of different artistic mediums and how that affects the price of a work. We will also discuss dealer relationships and how to bid at auction, how market appraisals are done, condition assessments and what is a provenance. Mainly the focus will be on modern and contemporary art. This is not a course on collectibles.
