Virginia Fuerstenberger, Susan Freeman, and Barbara Fox will lead a hands-on workshop on how buttons can tell your family’s story, focusing on buttons manufactured in the United States in the 20^th century – including synthetic polymer, Bakelite, vegetable ivory, and rubber. You will go home with some buttons and you may also bring some of your own, to be analyzed as time permits.
