051) Doodling: Lines, Shapes, and Color (Art for Fun)

You don't need to think of yourself as an artist to enjoy making marks on a page. Doodling, drawing and painting can be fun and relaxing --- even a kind of meditation. Join Eleni for a free-form art practice informed by quotes and poems, prompts and themes, ensuring you won't be looking at a blank page for long. The class can be repeated often as prompts and themes are always changing. This class is for artists and non-artist alike to explore your natural creativity through observation, imagination, and memory. Art experience not required or expected.

You can enjoy workshops with minimal art supplies:
- 10-20 pieces of paper &/or card stock (mix of sizes, colors, etc.)
- additional “scrap” paper for notes or random doodles
- consider: 3 x 5 cards, post-its, envelopes & other paper from recycling
- pencils, pens, markers of different colors, colored pencils, crayons, oil pastels

You will have more options (and fun) by bringing some or all of the following supplies:
- a mixed-media art journal of any size (Canson, Blick, or Strathmore)
- a small notebook or composition book to take notes (a “Studio Log”)
- dry media: pencils, pens, charcoal, markers, crayons, pastels etc.
- water-based paints: watercolor, tempera, acrylic, gouache; a few brushes of assorted sizes, paper plates (or recycled      containers) for palette, 2 cups of water, paper towels
- acrylic inks, rubber stamps & ink pads (different colors)
- random paper & ephemera for collage (old maps, postcards, newspaper)
- white glue (Elmer’s), glue stick, matte medium
- gesso (white and clear) and gel medium (glossy or matte)
- masking tape, scotch tape, washi tape, scissors, ruler, compass
