Dark alleys, double crosses, femmes fatale, and tough guys in trench coats: these are some of the elements of film noir, the uniquely American genre that captivated movie audiences across the country in the middle of the twentieth century. Years later, the genre started to reappear with some modern twists. This new version became known as Neo Noir, and it has produced a number of great movies.
