This session will help you take your family story back to your immigrant ancestors' departure from the old world, providing methods and clues for finding and interpreting immigration, ship manifest,  and naturalization records, and offering tips for tracking down the place of birth and residence of immigrant ancestors. Live database demonstrations and students research problems will be discussed.

Class is taught by Randi Koenig. A professional genealogist with over 15 years' experience, Randi not only provides comprehensive family research (international and domestic), but also specializes in finding missing heirs and forensic genealogy for kinship proceedings. Based in the New York City area, Randi is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and National Genealogical Society and many other genealogical organizations. She is a registered researcher at the Florence, Italy Archives and has served as a genealogy consultant to Ancestry.com. A longtime presenter of genealogical workshops and lectures to Genealogical Societies and Adult Education Centers, Randi is passionate and enthusiastic about genealogy and sharing her knowledge.
