Performances: The 3 plays and their performances we will study are to be determined.
Meaning in all written work is shaped by both the author’s intention and what the reader brings to the text. Plays are unique in offering a third dimension of meaning: that created by the director, actors, and designers.
This semester the course will focus on three plays—titles to be determined by the instructor—and their recorded or live performances accessed via the internet.
Texts and Performances: The instructor will brief students on how to access—either for free or for purchase—playscripts and performances. Students will incur costs beyond the enrollment fee.
