Prerequisites for the Course: You MUST be 18 years of age, and possess a high school diploma or its equivalent to enroll in this course; as well as basic science courses is helpful. 

  • Student will be able to perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels on patients.
  • Perform basic phlebotomy procedures
  • Evaluate patients for ability to withstand venipuncture procedure
  • prepare blood, urine and other body fluid specimens for testing according to established standards.

This course will help prepare the student for their Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) through the National Healthcareer Association.
