C999) Electrical Apprenticeship Information FALL 2021
 

Electrical is a four-year apprenticeship, meaning 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction has to be completed.
The apprentice must work full-time, receiving 2,000 work hours per year (total 4 years)
And receive a minimum of 144 hours of related instruction for each year of the program (total of 576 RTI hours)

The courses meet the apprenticeship related instruction component.  Each year consists of 150 hours of instruction.  Classes are held in the evenings from 6 – 9 pm for a total of 50 classes during the 2021-2022 school year.
The courses are hybrid, with 50 percent of the course in-person and 50 percent is online assignments.   For example, instead of meeting two days per week, students meet in-person once a week and the other class will be online classwork.


Courses must be taken sequentially on a yearly basis. For example, the year-one course must be taken prior to taking the year-two course and the fall semester must always be completed before taking the spring semester, unless prior approval is received from the Adult Education Coordinator. Students may be eligible for advance standing if they provide documentation of related vocational training and/or military background. To contact the Adult Education Coordinator, call 908-788-1119 x 2007.
