430) The History of Ireland From 1700 to 2025
 

The second part of this course will examine the 18th century Protestant Ascendency, the birth of a modern nationalist movement for independence, the ‘Great Liberator’, Daniel O’Connell, the tragic Potato Famine and the Irish Catholic diaspora, the late 19th/early 20th century ‘Home Rule’ movement, the ‘Easter Rising’, War of Independence (1912-21), and Civil War (1922-23) that produced the political landscape of today, Ireland’s role in WW II, the Troubles in Northern Ireland (1969-91), and the ‘Celtic Tiger’
