The beginner crochet class will teach students about different types of yarn and other supplies, how to read patterns, and the basic crochet stitches to make almost all projects. Students will make a mug cozy which uses all of the basic stitches. If time allows, students will make a granny square as well. Materials required are a
skein of basic acrylic yarn in a worsted weight (4 on label) in a color of your choosing (lighter/ medium colors are best for visibility). Caron Simply Soft or other shiny yarn are not recommended. Red Heart super saver or similar is fine. G6, G7 or H8 hook. Tapestry needle. Scissors. Materials can be purchased for $10.
