Regrettably, thieves are becoming more and more sophisticated and it’s sometimes hard to tell a scam from the real thing. Today you have to keep your guard up 24/7. Haverford Township Detective David Vernacchio will be giving a class on the most common scams and identity theft that target people: tech support scams, government imposter scams, grandparent scams, internet scams, nvestment scams, check fraud, caregiver scams and sweepstakes scams. Detective Vernacchio will describe how to defend against scams, answer questions about how to know when you’ve been targeted, and what to do if you’ve been scammed.
