Why did the Allied Powers achieve complete victory and, conversely, why did the Axis Powers suffer total defeat in the Second World War? This course will seek to answer these questions by examining the strategic decisions made by the nations of Fascist Italy, France, Great Britain, Imperial Japan, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and the United States, showing how these choices guided the course of events between 1939 and 1942.
