 Beatriz del Olmo-Fiddleman is a fine artist who got a bachelors degree as a graphic designer in Mexico City. After her experience in graduate school at SDSU, she got exposed to art books, boxmaking, printmaking and letterpress; encouraged her to specialized in such mediums. She has taken workshops related to the subjects of interest in Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago and New York. The subjects of her art books are about her childhood and background influenced and enriched by the American culture lived from every day life events. She likes to respond as an artist, woman and mother through images and language in which both cultures merge in one piece of art. She enjoys teaching bookbinding techniques and skills; and likes to guide students to explore more conceptual contents through art books. She likes to encourage students to engage the process and apply different mediums.
