 Pottery for Adults & Teens

Saturday AM Handbuilding: Intermediate to Advanced Independent Study for Continuing Students

Join a small class and work on your handbuilding techniques. Numerous restrictions to protect student health in small yurts require prior experience at Glen Echo Pottery.

You must have taken at least one class at GEP and work at a handbuilding skill level of intermediate to advanced to be eligible to enroll. Potters can pursue independent projects in coil, pinch, slab, sculpting and other types of handbuilding construction. There is no instructor and no formal curriculum.

Students are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times in all GEP indoor and outdoor facilities. Strict safety protocols to protect students and instructors are in place for all aspects of the program, including glazing, firing and cleaning/sanitizing equipment and work areas. Studio hours are scheduled through a student-organized calendar. Clay fees and firing fees are not included in tuition price.

For more info, contact coordinator: jeffrogs@aol.com. Minimum age 18.
