107) An Interactive Study of the Twilight Zone: AI and Robotics

Would it surprise you to know that over 65 years ago, The Twilight Zone featured stories about Artificial Intelligence? Rod Serling's visionary writing addressed the themes of human vs. machine, the role of robots in everyday life, and the influence of computers on society. In this interactive study, we will examine both the malevolent aspects of AI as well as the "softer" side of automation. We will discover that the issues of mechanization's risk and reward that we are reading in the headlines today were already being explored in this iconic television program. Following  the same format as our previous Twilight Zone sessions, we will watch selected episodes and then assess the message, meaning, and moral within.
