252) Introduction to Quilting
 

Explore the beautiful art of quilting by making a new patterned block each week. The instructor will provide patterned blocks, which will be worked on during class and completed during the week, and share ideas for finishing your creations. Familiarity with sewing is required, but no previous quilting experience is necessary. Come to first class prepared with fabrics and sewing tools. 

Supplies: 

  • Precut 100% cotton 10”-12”square (layer cake) assortment with 50-100 pcs in a package
    • Scrappy quilt blocks multi colored
    • Solids using pastels or jewel colors
    • Mixture of both above works also 
  • Olfa quilting cutting mat 12 X 18”
  • Olfa rotary cutter
  • Olfa ruler 6 1/2” x  18” or 24”
  • Sewing Machine in working order, including foot pedal and power cord  
  • Basic sewing notions: thread to match your fabric, scissors, pins, marking pen, seam gauge, seam ripper, fabric scissors, tape measure
