110) Music of the 1950s: Shake, Rattle & Roll

Explore how American music was transformed during the 1950s: cool jazz became the norm; modern country music grew in popularity; doo wop became a favorite with young listeners; pop singers like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Rosemary Clooney and others became recording, television, and film stars; rhythm and blues became more familiar and popular; and, by the middle of the decade, a new form of popular music dominated with the start of rock & roll.
