2104) Forest Therapy Walk/New Hope, PA ($160)

It’s been a long 2020 and a cold winter season but spring has arrived! Spring is a time for renewal, growth, and beauty. There’s no better time to get back outside and enjoy the serenity of nature by connecting with the world that surrounds you in a way you never experienced before. Are you ready to try something new? Something that will help you feel relaxed and restored? Join us for a forest therapy walk at the beautiful Bucks County Audubon Society. Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of “shinrin yoku” which translates to “forest bathing”. This is a gentle practice that involves

moving very slowly and mindfully through nature, soaking it in with all of our senses. Although our time outside in nature is approximately one hour, we walk no more than a quarter mile distance. So leave those hiking boots at home! Our guide who earned a certificate in horticultural therapy will lead us through Honey Hollow helping us have the experience of being more present, awake, and peaceful amidst the quiet rhythm of nature. Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health
benefits from these practices, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition. After our walk, we will explore the 1936 renovated barn that is now home to Honey Hollow’s visitor center, along with an historic waterwheel and spring house. Now it’s time for lunch in the eclectic riverside village of New Hope. Here we will relax and enjoy a leisurely meal at a wonderful, local restaurant. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to
spend strolling the marvelous Main Street to window shop, browse the enchanting boutiques, sip coffee or tea or wander along the canal to see the Locktender’s House. On our drive home, we’ll fill our senses once again with the scenic streams, farmlands, historic buildings and bridges along our journey to New Jersey.
