“The House that Beer Built” was constructed in 1885 for Jeannette and John Ballantine of the celebrated Newark brewing family and is now part of the Newark Museum of Art and a National Historic Landmark. Explore lavishly restored period rooms in the brick-and-limestone mansion that illuminate the ideal home life of a well-to-do Gilded Age family in 1891, and view objects that define the view of "home" from 1650s to today.
