This is a comprehensive 75-hour two-semester training program for those who aspire to become a licensed MA "Associate Home Inspector" in accordance with the requirements of 266 CMR, section 4.00.
The course creates the educational foundation of knowledge that a trainee needs in order, to pass the National Home Inspector Examination (http://homeinspectionexam.org/prepare-for-the-exam/), and then to attain an “Associate Home Inspector status” and to then begin formal on-the-job minimum one-year training with a Licensed MA Home Inspector to attain 125 home inspections followed by an application for full licensure.
Class meets Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6-9 pm, 12 evenings total. Cost $550 per semester.
Note: There is a $75 fee for each make-up class. Only two nights will be offered.
Note: A Trainee must find a willing licensed MA Home Inspector to train with after passing the National Examination.
Note: The two semesters do not have to be taken sequentially.
Section 4.01(1) of the regulations states that "training requirements include the successful completion of 75 hours of Education Training Credits." This is a Two Semester Course for compliance with the above.
Semester #1 covers: the required hours of training in Roofing System, Exterior system, Masonry, Structure system & Electrical system.
Semester #2 covers: the required hours of training in the Plumbing System, HVAC Systems, Standards of Practice, Report writing, Ethics and Contract law
Additional Class Fee: There is a $50 fee each semester for an electronic book on basic home inspection, plus PDF copies of all class Power Point presentations for study. To attain the above, students are required to provide an 8 GB minimum size USB memory stick for the above and cash or check payable to Bob Mulloy.
