Are you a homemaker or creative beginner with a love for fashion? This hands-on course is designed for absolute beginners who want to build foundational sewing and design skills. Over six weeks, students will progress from hand stitching to machine sewing, culminating in a final garment project. You’ll complete a variety of projects—including a pillow, tote bag, and an upcycled garment—while learning industry techniques like seam finishes, fabric manipulation, and reading commercial patterns. Whether you're dreaming of fashion design or just want to make clothes for yourself and your family, this summer course will inspire and empower your creative journey.
Supplies: Students will need to purchase their own fabric and patterns. Basic tools, small needles, and marking tools will also be available in the classroom.
Please do not purchase any supplies before the first class. A detailed supply list will be reviewed with the instructor on the first day to ensure students get exactly what they need without unnecessary expense.
