The dates, times, and/or delivery method (in-person or remote) of this class are subject to change as needed. All registered students will be notified via email and/or phone if any changes occur. If you do not receive a notification from the Adult Education office, the class will run as scheduled.

Students gain practical hands-on experience by building an 8' x 8' house throughout the program.

  • Carpentry I focuses on foundational skills and basic framing techniques.

  • Carpentry II builds upon foundational skills with more advanced techniques, including roof framing, finishing work, and interior trim.

Comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of essential carpentry skills:

  • Fundamentals: Hand and power tools, safety, building materials, carpentry math.

  • Framing: Footings, foundations, floor framing, wall framing, roof framing (gable and hip roofs).

  • Finish Work: Windows, doors, siding, roofing, drywall, interior trim, flooring.

  • Building Codes: Interpretation and application of relevant building codes.
