Student must have valid Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers - CPR-AHA (BLS/CPR Class) prior to the start date of class.
This program provides valuable training for individuals interested in pursuing a rewarding career in home healthcare by training individuals to provide essential personal care and homemaking services to individuals in their homes under direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Curriculum Includes:

Classroom Instruction: 60 hours of classroom instruction covering topics such as patient care, communication, infection control, safety, and homemaking skills.

Clinical Skills Lab: 16 hours of hands-on training in a supervised skills lab to practice essential skills.

Curriculum Standards: Aligns with New Jersey regulations (N.J.A.C. 13:37-14.4 and 13:37-14.5).

Specific Training for CNAs: A shorter 10-hour course is available for individuals already certified as Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs).

Duties of a CHHHA:

Personal care: Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and assistance with mobility.

Homemaking services: Shopping, errands, laundry, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.

Does NOT include: Medication administration.

Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to take the certification exam with the New Jersey Board of Nursing.

Job Outlook: High demand for CHHHAs is projected due to the aging population, offering excellent career prospects.
