For some, traditional sewing methods are intimidating, maybe even too rigid. For those who like to think outside the box, and don't want to rely on patterns, measuring and lots of tools, this sewing class is for you! Adrienne Antonson, designer of the label STATE, will teach you the basics of sewing and deconstruction -- including learning your way around a sewing machine, simple hand sewing techniques and ironing/pinning tricks to save time. From there we will be working with pieces from your wardrobe that need an update. Whether it's a t-shirt that desires to be a tank top, or pants that would look better as a mini skirt, we'll re-work pieces into something fresh and new.
After construction has been covered, we'll play with DIY surface design techniques that will spice up your new pieces like printing, stamping, and simple dye solutions that anyone can do at home!

No experience necessary. Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime!
All necessary materials are included but please bring a couple clothing items to work with. Also, we have Open Studio time for students to put their new knowledge to practice!
