Our series of Friday After Workshops allow participants to enjoy an evening of hands-on learning and fun, at low cost and low commitment.
The topics for Fall 2012 are:
Lap Loom Weaving 10.05.12 - led by Kelly Valletta, students will make their own loom and learn to create woven artworks through tapestry and pick up weaving.
Spinning Your Own Skein 10.12.12- led by Annie Egleson, learn to spin fibers into your very own yarn. From start to finish, you have the control over color, weight, and fiber.
Rust Dye 10.19.12 - led by Isa Rodrigues, students will learn about the potential of scavanged metal in the dye lab! Dye your clothes with metal scraps!
Block Printed Tote Bag 10.26.12 - led by Annie Egleson, students will learn about carving techniques and the basics of block printing while creating a tote bag.
Felted Fabric 11.2.12 - led by Annie Egleson, felting is a fun and unique way of creating fabric and other amazing products.
Natural Dyes in the Kitchen 11.9.12 - led by Isa Rodgriques, students will learn the basics of Natural Dyes, mordants and fibers all found in your own home.
Paper Making 11.16.12 - led by Annie Egleson, learn to make paper with paper pulp, a mould and deckle. Great for cards, books and sculptural projects.
Marbled Hankie 11.30.12 - led by Ilana Kohn, learn the basic of marbling with silk, cotton and paper and walk away with beautiful hankies.
Fiber Reactive Dyed Tote Bag 12.07.12 - led by Isa Rodrigues, learn to create FRD baths (aka procion). Experiment with tie dye and shibori techniques and walk away with a hand dyed tote bag.
