BK-SEW-BAS-0912) Sewing 101

Nothing beats learning new things that are totally awesome and useful. We all have the perfect item in mind, and can't seem to find it...So why not make it yourself? In our Sewing 101 course you will learn the essential skills of sewing: how to use a sewing machine, basic pattern reading and sewing construction while creating a simple, A-Line tank top designed by Jenny Gordy of Wiksten. Optional project is a fully-lined bag. We will begin by using muslin for this class, (provided for your use) and will move toward a finished garment in the fabric of your choice. In order to fully complete the 2nd garment you will most likely need to come in for Open Studo hours. If you would like to bring your own fabric, we can provide you with the specific guidelines for purchasing a fabric for this pattern.

No experience necessary. This course is a pre-requisite for Intermediate and Advanced Sewing courses. Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime!
All necessary materials are included. Any additional fabrics and materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Also, we have Open Studio time for students to put their new knowledge to practice!
