During the school year, we offer educational and fun after-school classes for youth ages 6 - 11 in several topics, in both our Manhattan and Brooklyn locations. Students can chose to study Weaving, Printing + Dyeing, Felting, or Sewing + Fashion. Classes are offered by day on a rotating basis, so you can try one or all! Each class is limited to 10 students (Weaving is limited to 6).

The Textile Arts Center is a unique environment where young artists use their hands to explore the act of making through traditional textile practices. Our program is led by an accomplished team of creative professionals who believe that artistic expression is fundamental to a child's well-being and development. We foster a sense of community and friendship among students to help them grow as individuals.

NEEDLE ARTS (Knit, Crochet, Embroidery, Felt)
In the Needle Arts after school class, students explore the wonderful world of fiber! Through knitting, crochet, embroidery, felting and more kids will turning un-spun wool into bright and fun textile projects, create drawings with thread, and learn to create hand-knit masterpieces! The needle arts are some of the most basic yet important textile processes, that can be applied in endless, fun ways.

Pick up is available for PS 3, PS 41, and Village Community School. Please be sure to enter your child’s school and age information upon registration, although you will also be asked to provide this information in your After School packet. If you are dropping off your child, you may do so any time between 3-4PM. At 3:30PM we have a short snack and homework time, and begin class promptly at 4PM. Pick up is promptly at 6PM.

All materials are included. 10% discounts are offered for siblings, or if you are registering for more than one After School class at a time either in the same cycle, or in future cycles during the school year. To register for more than one class at a time, please call us at 646-225-6554!
