Did you know your chipped crockery can be transformed into a beautiful piece of art? In French, pique assiette literally means “stolen from plates.” Also known as shard arts, this popular folk-art style of mosaics incorporates recycled bits of broken porcelain, ceramic tile, pottery, stoneware and found objects to create one-of-a-kind eye-popping art pieces. Please bring old plates from home and the instructor will help you safely break them into pieces. You can also bring other objects to incorporate such as ceramic pieces, jewelry, shells, pebbles, etc. All other materials are included in the tuition.
