Basic Photography II: Diving into Digital
Designed for beginning and intermediate level digital photographers, this course will teach students how to become fluent with their digital SLR camera (controls, options and custom functions), develop a fundamental digital workflow, and study the impact of lens choice, exposure and white balance on the finished image. We will also discuss composition and light, shutter speed & aperture as creative tools, and the potential of RAW and the digital darkroom. The course will contain two “practical” hands-on sessions during daylight in order to enhance the learning process. The goal is for students to learn to use their digital camera with predictable and repeatable results, and to begin to communicate through photography instead of just taking snapshots.
Prerequisite: “Basic Photography I: The Fundamentals” or equivalent experience. Students must be proficient in basic operation of their computer.
