Pattern Expressions: Alternative Approaches to Vitrigraphs Workshop
In this two-day workshop, students will experience the magic of pulling hot, taffy-like glass directly from the vitrigraph kiln to form long glass canes! The class covers a variety of effects achieved by arranging glass in different configurations. Canes will be created that reveal amazing patterns when cut open: some kaleidoscopic, some more mysterious. The cut components (murrine) will be used to create designs in samples and a larger fused glass art work, and you will leave with additional murrine to use in future projects. Supplies included. Info: firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com. Prerequisite: First Time Fusers or permission of instructor required. Minimum age 14.
