Objective Abstraction (Highter)
An in-depth exploration for beginning and intermediate students into objective abstract painting. Students will work from observation and will explore different ways of representing what they see beyond representation. Art historical references will be introduced as examples of how various artists have transformed ideas of nature into abstraction. Students will focus on the process of painting while considering formal elements of texture, color, composition, and spatial relationships. Class time will be divided into lectures, demos, painting, and critiques. Info: firstname.lastname@example.org. Minimum age 13.
