| Drew Sodo Hanson has been a practitioner of the Urasenke Tradition of Japanese Tea since 1995 and is a licensed teacher in this tradition. He frequently demonstrates the Japanese Tea ceremony at Shofusio, The Japanese House and Garden in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, where he also teaches the Japanese Way of Tea. Drew and his partner own and operate (open to the public by appointment), Boukakuan, a Japanese tea house on the grounds of their home in Burlington County, NJ, where, within a Japanese style garden setting, visitors may observe a Japanese Tea Ceremony . Drew holds a Ph.D. in American Literature from Pennsylvania State University and has over 20 years experience teaching writing, literature, and poetry on the college level. |
